….and they will dance!
At first it was the musicians who drew me in with their unconventional instruments and their obvious passion in the making of their music.
But it was the kids who ended up fascinating me. With just a strip of street in front of them they answered the call of the beat in their souls and started dancing.
First this one,
followed by others, reluctantly at first, but then finding the joy of movement and forgetting to be self-conscious.
Have you ever seen such a look of total happiness after this little guy finished his début on the street?
Check out the boy in the Hurley shirt in the right hand side of this next shot. He wants to join them but he’s reluctant and needs a little nudge from mom.
He finally ventures out.
And after just a few minutes he’s completely absorbed.
Proving all you have to give children is a few words of encouragement, a great beat with a bit of room on the street, and they will dance!
