Driving along Interstate 90 on your way to Rapid City and the Black Hills in South Dakota, it’s easy to drive past this out-of-this-world landscape tucked along the side of the road in Badlands National Park, but a side trip will reward you with views that will have you thinking about alien planets and wondering where the spaceships are parked.

At the very least, it will leave you thinking about your place in a very large universe.
