I always have trouble jumping on the same bandwagon with everyone else so it took me a while to take my first selfie and even then I took it, not with the camera reversed, pointed towards me, but by pointing it at a mirror. I’m sure a psychologist could have a field day with the reasons why.
However, this was my first selfie and although the next two pictures are not selfies, they certainly complete the story, don’t they?
I’ve still not managed to turn the camera towards me but this is one of my favorite selfies:
I’m intrigued with the layers that were created with the store front display played off against the reflections of the street and the partial image of my face. Again, perhaps cause for a bit of psychological introspection?
Lately my selfies have all been a means of letting my friends in Louisiana know just how cold it is here in Nebraska since my move in November. The first photo catches my utter dismay at the state of my hat by the time I came in the house after one of my first really cold walks. Yikes! Who knew my hat was going to do that?!? I was wondering why everyone was smiling at me that day. By the time I took the third picture, the wind chills had hit ~20 and I’m pretty sure my eyeballs were frozen.
Oh, and I must be making progress. I’m pretty sure the last two photos were true selfies, no mirror used!
