I’m pretty sure there’s inspiration for a ballet in the life cycle of the water-lily.
The long summer days have passed.
Cooler nights have brought on the inevitable transformation and
the lily pad goes underground to wait out the winter.
These are definitely not Monet’s water lilies.
In their decline is their beauty.
For a long time life is all about getting to the pinnacle, then suddenly it’s all about a graceful descent.
