Mothers….this week’s P52 Photo Challenge
Life has been busy around here. Mother’s Day has come and gone and I’ve been thinking about how to tell you about my wonderful mother….who she was, what she stood for, how she made me who I am.
Somehow, every time I thought I might have enough time to put my love for her into words I simply couldn’t do it.
I’m a rather emotional person and I knew it would bring me to tears, the remembering of her.
Now I have exactly 47 minutes left to write the blog before submissions for the challenge close. Mom would probably smile about that. She knew I was a procrastinator.
Mom died in June of 2006 and the next February this is the Valentine I made to send to a group of people who have been receiving handmade valentines from me for several decades. I poured my heart into it and so tonight I’m going to let it suffice.
No more words….just images of the layered valentine that was meant to represent the many layers of a relationship between a mother and a daughter. It is meant to be unfolded and lingered over. It is meant to be my final tribute to the woman who lived for her family. A mother who was everything a mother needed to be.
A mother who is missed. I love you Mom.

Through few words, the love for your mother shines brightly. She was obviously a wonderful example to you, as it is shown in the love you have for your children and all those around you.

What always amazed me was her selflessness and how strong her faith was. I could never even begin to live up to her example in those regards.

You’ve know me since before I became a mother and in all of my phases of motherhood. Even though our own mothers are gone they certainly remain with us. I can’t get through many of the songs my choir sings in church because they are tied so closely to my memories of Mom.
