It’s raining buckets in Shreveport, Louisiana this morning. I’m sure the Mardi Gras Krewe of Gemini isn’t happy about it but we really do need this rain.
I’m cognizant of the simple things around me that bring me peace. My favorite mug full of hot and aromatic coffee. My husband standing beside me at the counter as we both sift through our emails and the websites we visit every day, sharing friend’s posts and internet news. Music playing in the background….A Rainy Night in Georgia, Ralph the Disobedient Cockroach, Maggie Mae….did I mention how eclectic the songs are on Jim’s playlist?!?
Being on this side of my windowsill, feeling warm and cocooned.
In five hours we’ll be on the other side of this windowsill, rolling with the Krewe of Gemini on one of their floats. I need to go buy some clear ponchos so as not to cover up our mad scientist costumes. I have a feeling I might be on the other side of enjoying the rain by parade time.
