Every single morning this guy lies outside my bedroom door waiting for me to start my day.

Whatya’doingmom? Whydidyousleepsolong?!? We’redefinitelywastin’ourday! Myleashisrightdownthosestairswaitingforus! Coffee?Ohno!Youdon’tREALLYneedcoffeebeforewewalk! I’llwakeyouup! There,yourshoesarerightthere! Pleasetellmeyou’regettingdressedtowalk…PLEASE!!!!!! Ohyeah,ohyeah,she’sputtingonclothesandnot justgoingdownstairsinherpajamas! Yep,Ithinksheis,Ithinkshe’sreallygonnatakemeonawalk! OhI’msohappy! IwasworriedI’dNEVERwalkagain!

That’s my morning….every morning!

Xavier and I see many things on our daily walks…tentative bunnies nibbling the wet grass, squirrels plotting their attacks on the neighbor’s flowers, airplanes lumbering along the runways, people in cars sipping coffee as they make their way to their offices….the things a morning is made of.  But this is our favorite sight….what we affectionately refer to as a “B-52 on a stick” with a promising morning sun rising behind Wing Headquarters.

Xavier has a sidekick but his back legs don’t work quite as well as they used to so he stays behind to guard the house.

 Properly trained, a man can be dog’s best friend.
