I have a very established routine in the morning.
My husband rises early, feeds and walks the dog, and makes the coffee while I’m still trying to convince myself to open my eyes to think about starting my day. Eventually I venture downstairs, pour my coffee, and settle into the couch with my friends from Good Morning America, hoping said husband doesn’t try to talk to me until that cup of coffee is gone.
It’s a rare occurrence when I’m up early enough to have already walked the dog by the time the sun has crested the tree line near my home but that’s exactly what happened this past week when my dog-walker/coffee-maker was gone on a business trip.
This was my reward as I headed back down the driveway with Xav.
Every now and then all the separate components come together to make something bigger…the light, the flag, the shadows, the stillness of early morning.
Kinda makes getting out of bed a very worthwhile endeavor.
One more perfect lighting moment from this past week before I leave this post:
I’m always a sucker for clouds and reflections.
Wow, how do I get that arrangement?

I know….I’m spoiled! He even gets my favorite coffee cup out, with two Equals and a spoon at the ready. I’m a lucky girl.

Mine does that too, though in ‘this life’ I’m up first now and then. Guys like that, you hang onto. Beautiful work, Julie.

Wow, I love when this kind of thing happens. Not your husband, but of course, that’s wonderful too. I mean this lighting. Especially in the early morning. I always assume it’s a “Good Morning Kathie” from you know who!
Good morning Jules!!

I suppose the early riser gets the “hello” and the photograph….just doesn’t happen that this photographer is an early riser on most days. Not a functioning one, anyway!
