What a wonderful thing it is, to know someone in one context and then see them in a totally different role.

Last week I spent time with a man who I know as a priest, a military officer and a friend but I’ve never seen him with his family.

What a wonderful experience it was, to see how beloved they are to him, he to them, and them to each other…..in these photos….sister to sister, uncle to nieces, brother to brother.

Equalled, perhaps, only by his love for his faithful four-footed companion, Sage.

And most certainly by his love for our God, who considers all of us, beloved.

What a beautiful gift it is….to be beloved, simply because we exist.
