I find myself traveling a lot in this season of my life and although I love being in new places and experiencing new things, it always comes down to this….

There’s no place like home.

After living out of a suitcase, and being in a car or in airplanes for hours on end, there’s no place I’d rather be.

Home is where my center is.

Although none of them has ever lived at this particular address and two of my three sons and their families have yet to see the house in person, this is where I’ve gathered all their photos.

And this is where I pray for them.

However, my favorite room is this one.

It’s where I experiment, it’s where I keep the things that visually inspire me.  It will fill up and change and evolve during the time I live in this house, an ever-changing canvas of a room.  For the first time in my entire adult life I predict longevity in this home so this space won’t be boxed up and moved anytime soon…..or at least, not to my knowledge on this particular day.

So yes, even though packing the suitcase is always exciting and seeing people who don’t physically live with me is always welcome, in the end, there’s no place I’d rather be than in this home, with the person I share it with!
