Symmetry: the quality of being made up of exactly similar parts facing each other or around an axis.

I’m intrigued by the words “exactly similar.”  Exact indicates a mirror image but similar allows for differences.

Two sisters.

The oldest and the youngest of four children.  One, a Catholic sister who has lived a life of religious service.  The other, a military spouse with three sons and three grandchildren.  We only lived in the same house for four years while we were growing up so we have relatively few shared experiences but we have the same axis: our parents, our siblings and our faith.  Exactly similar, but not the same.

Two sisters that are symmetrical but not the same.

Unless it comes to chocolate malts.  In that regard our symmetry is exact!
